Water & Power, Los Angeles

On September 4th, Tabula Rasa and Water & Power are proud to present: RamonPang Three champion DJs of Los Angeles' underground IDM-fusion and deconstructed club scene unite for one rare foggy sweaty night at Water & Power. RamonPang is an artist from Los Angeles, and co-founding head of Tabula Rasa Records, an experimental label and creative collective. RamonPang’s own ecstatic approach to DJing and production is filled with sparkling 80s tropes, bird chirps, flutes, cascading chords and harps flaring like cosmic fireworks over heavy low-end and lightning-fast breaks, “as if the space-time continuum is being rearranged in real time” (Resident Advisor). If you missed his sets at events like Parameter Festival or Love Long Beach, RamonPang is taking his maximalist sprint of IDM, acid techno, electro, psychedelic bass and nature sounds to experimental art space Water & Power for his first headline extended set in 4 years. In the 2020s, he became Gen Z's de facto “IDM torchbearer” by figures like Joshua Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv), Benn Jordan and Matmos, with a social media channel that's an educational treasure trove of crossover stories: including Autechre’s encounter with Egyptian Lover, and Skrillex’s love of the Warp catalogue. His latest albums and educational electronic music work have been featured on publications like Rolling Stone, The Needle Drop, Forbes, Igloo Mag, The Guardian and more. Supporting the show will be Gaszia (previously of X&G), who's peer to artists like Umru and Sinjin Hawke. His pop-prowess shows through his acclaimed collabs with CAMGIRL and Sooski, while his deconstructed, sound-forward edits of tracks like ‘Bangarang’ and ‘Bring in the Dub’ are highly regarded in the underground club scene, supported by artists like Skrillex, Ninajirachi, Jyoty and Bianca Oblivion. Opening the show will be Iris Ipsum. Releasing albums on IDM labels like Satellite Era and Touched Music, Iris Ipsum also hosts the “Pattern Language” show on Dublab, broadcasting contemporary ambient and leftfield electronic music to the Los Angeles airwaves.
