HAPPY SURVIVAL SOUNDSYSTEM arrives… African DANCE music !! Happy Survival, a Soundsystem, a collective, a party based in Barcelona and a bi-monthly radioshow on Canino FM. We will also be hosting educative talks and discussions about African and pan-African music. We love Highlife, Fuji, Juju, Soukouss, 80’s African disco, African Jazz, Palm-wine Soul, Makossa and more, but especially Highlife in all its magic and variety!!! Highlife music was one of the original ‘dance music’ before house music ever came around. In it’s period, music was made for communal enjoyment. Therefore it was vibrant, uplifting, informative and quite importantly, made for the local people (not western markets) to dance and simply forget any sorrows. Happy Survival, an alternative to the Afrobeats wave machine… Come and let yourself dance from the soul !!! * Happy Survival Soundsystem, a collective of artists, based in Barcelona. We promote authentic African music, host events, host educative talks/workshops and broadcast a radio show. Always utilizing high fidelity soundsystems.
