His roots run deep in L.A.’s underground rave scene since the early 90s. Baseck’s fascination with sound brought him to turntablism at an early age. His attraction to hands-on hardware, learned from scratching records, led to audio manipulation with small battery powered toys, drum machines, then modular synthesizers. His unique style and mastery of a wide range of music hardware segued into his involvement with music technology. Since 2013, Baseck has been working with synthesizer companies to design concepts to enhance user playability. Variatic Basicus, a Eurorack module created by Noise Engineering, was built for his live performance needs. DSI’s Tempest analog drum machine includes presets designed by Baseck. His style builds on past musical experiments, combining the 80’s drum machine sounds of Breakdance and Industrial, with a future approach to Drum & Bass and Braindance using both analog and digital hardware. XANOPTICON One of the few electronic musicians who truly defy comparison, Pittsburgh's Xanopticon has been steadily and thoroughly annihilating dancefloors since around 2000AD. His live shows are often noted for their intensity and his sound for its attention to detail, having been described by one journalist as "waves of breaks". Xanopticon's output features dramatic dynamics that alternate between frantic IDM/"post-drill & bass" and more subtle, melodic ambient music. gl00m13 originally from New Mexico, he got his start performing in punk houses and underpass renegades in Portland, Oregon. he released his first album through Norm Corps, and his second through deathbysheep. he has toured the US twice and continues to play at underground events across the country. whether it's a renegade in the woods, a warehouse, or a club, his sets will always take you on a nostalgic trip. floating through rave history, you are carried by melancholic melodies that make you want to move. he creates his own environment and sound, unrestrained by BPM or genre. some influences include junglist video game soundtracks from his childhood, horror b-movies, old skool rave, and his parents introducing him to music such as Carl Crack, Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, and more as a baby. he loves to dig in dusty bins for the best dollar-store record finds.
