BELWARP returns to Shipley Kirkgate Centre for VOL.02 - another night bringing together some of our favourite live electronic and experimental artists from across the UK, sharing a stage right here in West Yorkshire. Expect electronica, noise, AV and a few surprises. SILVERWINGKILLER (Manchester) SILVERWINGKILLER are the duo of Ni Yushang and James Baca, a two-piece from Manchester via Shanghai and Peterborough, making self-styled "International Industrial City Punk": Mandarin, Shanghainese and English vocals over live breakbeats, analogue arps and distorted electronics. Since their debut EP they've built a formidable live reputation, described by Crack magazine as "a raw, sweaty, chaotic antidote to the ubiquity of static laptop sets" and Dazed as "one of the best live bands in the city" - and we couldn't agree more. They come to BELWARP fresh from the release of their second EP DESPERATE STRUGGLE; raw new world soundscapes colliding with distorted Manchester electronics - pushing the illicit, abrasive energy of their debut somewhere bigger, stranger and harder. SIN CLAIR (Glasgow) SIN CLAIR is the solo project of Amelia Kidd (The Horrors, The Ninth Wave), bringing her songwriting and production into a stranger, more intimate space. Hypnotic keyboards, stacked harmonies, field recordings and industrial rhythms blur the organic and the mechanical, with the imperfections of live performance deliberately left exposed. Her recent debut double single Affirmations #2 / Exhale captures the project's remarkable range - from glitched, deconstructed club music to fragile, close-up songwriting. Drawing comparisons with artists from Sybille Baier to Aphex Twin and Burial, the world of Sin Clair has until very recently existed entirely as a live proposition - a rare, unpredictable performer operating somewhere between concert, sound collage and electronic experimentation. ANOTHER COUNTRY $$$$ (Manchester) ANOTHER COUNTRY $$$$ are a Manchester-based audiovisual duo, fold ingshape-shifting electronic production, live drums and visuals into a blistering hybrid set spanning jungle, dub, DnB, garage, noise and hyperpop, all with a haunting cinematic edge. Rooted in Manchester's DIY scene and signed to Spinny Nights, they've picked up support from BBC Radio 6, RTE and Pitchfork, alongside live appearances with Fat Dog, Baths, Kassie Krut and SCALER. Their sets push those disparate influences together into something physical and unpredictable. K.YALO (Glasgow) K.YALO is the solo audiovisual project of Glasgow-based musician, sound artist and VJ Kyalo Searle-Mbullu (The Ninth Wave), combining live-sequenced electronics with audio-reactive visuals. His sets move between hypnotic repetition, fractured IDM and breakcore, immersive soundscapes and the physical pulse of rave - capable of shifting from meditative to overwhelming without warning. His wider AV practice spans live performance and installation, including work presented at Glasgow International and the Scottish Queer International Film Festival. + DJs + bar by Shipley Triangle SUPPORTED BY BELWARP.02 is supported using public funding by Arts Council England, via Bradford Culture Company and Bradford District Music Strategy as part of Bradford Music Month.
