Live in the Basement launches a new collaboration between The Australian College of the Arts (Collarts) and Collingwood Basement, showcasing the next generation of electronic music artists emerging from the Collarts Music Production community. Each month will feature a curated lineup of current students, alumni and artists connected to Collarts, celebrating the diversity of creative voices shaping contemporary electronic music. Rooted in the rich history and culture of electronic music while looking firmly towards its future, the series will provide a platform for emerging artists to experiment, perform and share their work within one of Melbourne's most vibrant music communities. Spanning live electronic performances and DJ sets, each night will move across genres, styles and approaches, with an emphasis on cutting-edge, forward-thinking and upfront music. From the dancefloor to the experimental, the series celebrates electronic music in all its forms while creating a space for new artists, new sounds and the next generation of Australian electronic music. Live in the Basement will take place on the last Wednesday of each month, with the series launching on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
