𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁 For over twenty years, his records have been holding Berlin floors together while the man himself has been somewhere else. Any record by him dropped at four in the morning and a room decided to stay another hour. Records passed hand to hand between diggers, rewound by producers trying to work out how one person did all of that. The music stuck. 𝗢𝗻 𝟮𝟱 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝗣𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀. He plays Berlin for the first time in more than two decades, and if you have been waiting for it, you know how rarely his name appears on a European flyer at all. This is a booking made from the heart. It exists because this music mattered to us long before we were in any position to ask. Chicago raised him on jazz discipline and trumpet before house got hold of him, and for close to three decades he has released on his own terms, most of it through his own imprint, Studio Confession. That independence is Peven’s substance. While the industry was deciding what soulful house was permitted to sound like, Everett kept putting out music at a pace nobody could match, letting gospel phrasing, jazz harmony and raw four-to-the-floor sit in the same track because he wanted them there. Producers in Chicago, London and Detroit have been drawing on that catalogue ever since. Building the room before him are 𝐗𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐢 and 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜. Xubii is known for her smooth and soulful sets. She holds it down in the local Leipzig scene, playing for dancers and lovers alike. Femdelic came to the decks from dancing, by way of breakdance and poppin' at Berlin youth clubs, and it shows in everything she plays: funk, electro boogie, disco, Afro, house, pulled from a deep collection and arranged for bodies to move.
