**Rough Trade Recommends presents: Grimm Grimm + Raisa K + Relaxkev+IR\*** **\*Curated by Grimm Grimm** Rough Trade's monthly new music showcase returns with some of the best up-and-coming acts in the alternative scene. **Grimm Grimm** Grimm Grimm is the musical project of London-based singer-songwriter, composer and record producer Koichi Yamanoha, originally from West Tokyo, Japan. His music brings together experimental pop and futuristic lyricism with the timeless quality of music-box melodies. Throughout his releases, Yamanoha has continued to explore different facets of his musical language, weaving a contemporary sound together with influences from baroque folk and infinite canons. His work moves between English and Japanese and has involved collaborations with artists such as Lori Goldston, Le Volume Courbe, Klein, Marta Salogni and Eiko Ishibashi. His music has also found its way into films and video games, among them Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, where Yamanoha makes a cameo appearance. At times, guest vocals create a sense of multiple personalities sharing the same dream, while melodies linger long after the songs have ended, haunting the ear like half-remembered nursery rhymes. — Helen Clifford For this special show, Grimm Grimm will be joined by Paz Maddio and Jem Doulton. **Raisa K** Raisa K, also known as Raisa Khan, is a singer-songwriter, producer, and keyboardist who grew up in London. Her debut album ‘Affectionately’ was released in March 2025 and marks her first solo full-length record, following her previous releases with Good Sad Happy Bad, of which she is a member. The album consists entirely of self-produced laptop instrumentals, weaving Raisa’s signature vocals into a unique soundworld. Its overarching theme explores the intricate cycles of relationships and commitment with heartfelt sincerity. **Relaxkev + IR** Relaxkev + IR are a duo based in London and Plymouth respectively. Ethereal vocals and guitar spills into synth drone – their music moves between hazy atmospheres and full-blown ballads.
