Mood Ring, New York

SWEAT SESSION N°9 Sweat Sessions returns to Mood Ring with four distinctly New York perspectives on underground dance music, moving from meditative electronics and dubwise space into broken rhythms, jungle, and techno. J. Albert (@jabert_ofishal) is a Florida-raised, NYC-based producer whose prolific catalog has continually reshaped the boundaries of club music. A co-founder of the Queens-rooted Exotic Dance Records, he has built an extensive catalog across The Trilogy Tapes, Hypercolour, 1080p, Black Opal, Opal Tapes, and his own imprint. His work has continually evolved beyond the hazy house of his early records, expanding into jungle, UK garage, ambient composition, experimental R&B, and unclassifiable machine music. Behind the decks, that expansive history translates into a set shaped by rhythmic surprise, unusual contrasts, and an instinct for connecting disparate corners of club music. Enayet (@_enayet) b2b rrao (@_rrao) brings together two co-founders of SLINK for a rare reunion rooted in their adventurous approach to broken rhythms, experimental percussion, bass, and techno. Dhaka-raised Enayet, one half of E-Wata, transforms memory, field recordings, and Bangladeshi instrumentation into fractured techno, jungle, and contemporary club forms, as heard on Chokkor and Phiriya. rrao balances intricate percussion and bass pressure with ambient detail, weaving techno, jungle, and left-field club sounds into fluid, patiently unfolding sets as heard at Osmosis, Dripping, and Nowadays. Drawing on years of shared studio work and all-night SLINK sessions, their b2b moves fluidly between hypnotic restraint and full rhythmic release. Apok (@apoksnapok) is a Thai-American producer, composer, audio engineer, and co-founder of Club Dub. His productions connect deep techno, ambient dub, and left-field club music through precise sound design and a strong sense of space. The 2022 EP Dontri sampled traditional Thai instruments - including khong wong yai, ranat ek, and khim - reframing their distinct tonal qualities within contemporary electronic structures. His 2025 EP Ore, the first release on Club Dub’s label, moves from metallic club propulsion and cavernous techno into a submerged ambient-dub finale built around the Thai phin. His sets extend that studio language onto the dancefloor: detailed, immersive, and anchored by physical low end. full body stretch (@marc.huo) opens with mutant dancehall, slambient downtempo, and hazy dub - a slow, bass-heavy warmup built for swaying close. ੈ✩‧₊˚ੈ✩‧₊˚ $10/$15 cover or free before 11 PM with RSVP Cash, card, and Apple Pay accepted for door payments.
