Wrocław is the place where the Avant Art Festival took root and where its character took shape. From the very beginning, the program has been based on unexpected pairings, combining different disciplines, and going beyond a single genre, scene, or institution. In 2026, the Wrocław edition will last eleven days and span nine venues. There will be no single festival hub. Concerts, exhibitions, films, and performance art will take place in galleries, movie theaters, clubs, and independent venues, each of which brings its own history, scale, and character to the program. The music program brings together artists representing completely different approaches to sound. The hypnotic improvisation of The Necks, the physical intensity of Senyawa, the electronic deconstructions of ayi, and the collective psychedelia of EarthBall. The industrial and no-wave language of Everything is Psychedelic, the ritual theater of Ak’Chamel, and the uncompromising energy of ZU. Iggor Cavalera, in turn, will appear as an artist who has for years consistently developed his artistic language far beyond the history of metal. The program is rounded out by projects emerging at the intersection of various disciplines and traditions: the research-performance project KATÁBASIS, a collaboration between Małe Instrumenty and Jean-Hervé Peron centered on FAUST’s repertoire, an exhibition by Manuela Morales Délano, and Avant Art Film. The Wrocław edition spreads throughout the city, connecting places that normally function in completely different contexts. It is precisely between these spaces that this year’s program is built.
