For 3hd’s “Beyond Imagining” performance and music night at CANK, genre collapse, unresolved cycles, and raw feeling aren’t conditions of crisis but material for construction. Blurring the boundaries between dancefloor and stage, the repurposed department store plays host to industrial techno, reggaeton, RnB, and world-spanning sound, each artist finding their own way of turning static into strength. Göksu Kunak’s “HUNG,” with Dustin Harder and Leo Luther, builds around cycles and the circle as form and structure, moving from lullabies to screams. It traces the shifting emotional states that coexist within us and the world, exploring the experience of being suspended in a loop that never lands. Exmantera, otherwise known as MEAT CAGE, moves between club music and sonic deconstruction, genre-open and entirely committed to feeling. Lowra, the duo made up of vocalist and lyricist Rosalie and composer 2K88, combines emotional songwriting with forward-thinking production, where deep bass and ambient texture meets cinematic, alternative RnB. Safety Trance, the newer project from Cardopusher’s Luis Garban, straddles industrial techno and Latin club music, rewiring the DNA of reggaeton with warehouse intensity. Schirin Charlot immerses the floor in hardcore from all corners and decades, throwing hardstyle, trance, and gabber into a mix that is raw, euphoric, and unapologetically intense. SUUTOO’s “STARFIRE” brings together their interdisciplinary sonic experiments and performances into a concentrated, live-visual, and poetic language accompanied by their band Damien Kabran and Oxhy. Part club, part performance space, while not quite either, the night is staged on the sales floor of a store built first for clothes, not dancing. As layered as the artists who perform in it, the space augments rather than echoes, spilling past its own edges and blurring the lines between art, act, and audience. Image by Saish Kotecha
