Staying on Air: Funding, Support Networks, and the Impact of Community Radios. Berlin's community radio stations are the broadcast home of niche mixes from local DJs, artist interviews, breakfast shows, live sets and beyond as their physical spaces host workshops, readings, dinners and experimental events where subcultures can gather and thrive. To that extend radios are important third spaces where artists and listeners can meet, exchange ideas and collaborate without the financial and social barriers of most clubs. These days, many of our favourite independent stations face cultural funding cuts, rent increases, noise complaints and other bureaucratic pressures. Despite these challenges, they remain a vital part of Berlin's music scene and must be supported. This panel will host organisers from Cashmere Radio, Mutant Radio, RBL Berlin and Refuge Worldwide who will share ideas and discuss how Berlin's stations can support one another and survive these unstable times. From volunteer-led operations and grant-writing groups to fundraisers and brand partnerships, the panel will cover how independent spaces and venues can stay afloat. Guests are welcomed at Giri at 6:30 PM, with the panel starting at 7 PM followed by a Q&A. RSVP is required due limited capacity. A mixer for artists, collective members, scene actors, promoters and radio teams will follow, running until 10:30 PM with Triqi behind the decks. The whole event is free of charge, feel free to RSVP to both the panel and the mixer. Raised and based in Berlin, Triqi first kicked off her DJ career in Amsterdam's vibrant local scene. She established her creative roots alongside collectives like Paradisco, BLVSH, THF Radio and the Berlin branch of the South Asian collective Daytimers. Her sonic palette is a vibrant mosaic of deep, groovy house, spiked with elements of UKG, breaks, bass, and electro to drive a pulse that is both emotive, infectious and mischievous. Giri is a cultural venue in Neukölln centred on music, food and community. It offers Berlin's music collectives an accessible place to meet and organise casual gatherings. --- Back in 2001, Resident Advisor launched in a living room in Sydney. Now, more than two decades later, we’re celebrating our 25th birthday with a tour of free-to-attend RA Community events across 5 continents. Between September and December, we’ll be touching down with workshops, talks and fundraisers in New York, CDMX, Dublin, Kampala, Paris, Berlin, LA, Eora (Sydney) and Rio de Janeiro, alongside continued community partnerships with Underground Music Academy in Detroit and Cape Town's Bridges for Music. The RA25 community event series joins a wider programme of 25th anniversary activity, spanning a world club tour of parties in nightlife hubs around the world, a book, merch, and an archival project.
