Grow residents CSGRV & Demacque are back for another all-night-long session spanning a wide breadth of sounds, from records from Brazil to Soulful Deep House, for a free Christmas Party for Grow. CSGRV & Demacque have been friends since their teens, spending much of that time collecting records, digging for music and sharing moments on dancefloors. Years of listening together have shaped a musical understanding that comes through in their back-to-back sets. They know each other's tastes, but there's still plenty of room to surprise one another, following a record somewhere unexpected or drawing out a different side of the music. Between them, their collections span a wide spectrum of sounds, from Brazilian music, West African rhythms, rare groove and disco to deep and soulful house, through to the dubbier, more hypnotic strains of tech house and techno. Their approach is instinctive, with a particular ear for texture, groove and progression. All-night-long sets give them the freedom to draw on these influences, explore the connections between seemingly different records and gradually develop the music over several hours. CSGRV is also responsible for Grow Hackney's music programme. Previously, he programmed and ran Superstition, Village Underground's long-running in-house club series, where he was also a resident DJ. They’ll be joined by a special guest for a house DJ set, a close friend and collaborator from CSGRV’s days at Village Underground and a current resident at fabric who’ll play unannounced.
