Some people become part of the fabric of London's Underground House Music scene. Madz was one of them. Known to many as "Madagascar," she was a familiar face across London's underground clubs — working guest lists, running doors, looking after people and making sure the party was always the right kind of party. She had a dry sense of humour, a sharp tongue and a legendary take-no-shit attitude. If Madz was on the door, you knew it was going to be a good night. But Madz was much more than that. She was part of a London club culture that brought people together from every background — a world of music, friendship, creativity, freedom and finding your tribe. On Sunday 27th September, we're bringing that community together to celebrate Madz's London life. This isn't a funeral. It isn't a religious service. The response from the community has already been incredible. DJs, promoters, venue owners, photographers, graphic designers and creatives from across the industry are all donating their time and talents to make this happen. Raising funds for Tell MAMA Entry is by a minimum £5 donation, with 100% of money raised going directly to Tell MAMA to support its work tackling anti-Muslim hate and Islamophobia.
