
Mataio Austin Dean (Shovel Dance Collective) was born in 1996 to a Guyanese mother and an English father, Austin Dean’s work often explores, through oral and visual culture, the darkly intertwined histories of Guyana and England. He is best known as a member of experimental folk group, Shovel Dance Collecitve. He sings folksong “with a truly unquestionable authenticity …channelling the spirit of Ewan MacColl” - Tradfolk Anna Rose Garvey is an Ireland-based musician exploring tensions between voice, perception, and technology. She works with acoustic feedback and traditional Irish singing, experimenting in areas of consonance between the two.
