January blues be damned! Grey skies, dark at 4pm, an empty bank account and all your mates are doing dry Jan, but fret not, we’ve got the perfect cure. The gang are bringing a bit of Rio sunshine to Colour Factory for one night, as Mario Bakuna Band plays the iconic album Getz/Gilberto. This is the record that brought bossa nova to the world. American saxophonist Stan Getz and Brazilian guitarist João Gilberto recorded it in 1963. It went on to sell over a million copies, won the Grammy for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, and in 1965 became the first non-American album to win Album of the Year. presented by LBE
