Planet Love returns in XXXL style on September 12th with our first triple header lineup. We have a big name *secret guest* joining us for the night, who has released music on some of the most important house music labels like Craigie Knowes and Life & Death, and whose tunes get rinsed by everyone from Job Jobse to DJ Tennis. Can you guess who it is? Joining our secret guest, we’ve invited two residents from the hallowed Club Raum in Amsterdam to make their Los Angeles debuts: Fafi Abdel Nour and ketia. These are two of the brightest rising stars at the vanguard of the international queer underground. The Syrian-born but Netherlands-raised Fafi Abdel Nour distills the liberating essence of house music, captivating dancers with his joyous and infectious groove. His sets are flamboyant and queer but sophisticated, conveying a timelessness and otherworldly joy. He reminds you that it’s a party, goddamnit! Dance, let loose, and smile. ketia takes an approach free from the constraints of genre or rules, guided by intensity, emotion, and beauty, and raviness. A nonbinary DJ and activist from Lisbon who has been mentored by the likes of Eris Drew & Octo Octa, they bring their full heart and sensitivity to the decks. One moment it might be euphoric trance, and the next it might be ravey acid. It’s all woven together by ketia with a special sensitivity and narrative flow that is rare. They have played everywhere from Basement NYC to Panorama Bar, quickly becoming a distinct and respected voice in the dance music underground. Last but not least, Planet Love resident James Axon returns to set the night in motion, who has been away from Los Angeles for the last few months while touring in Europe and NYC. Coming fresh off big sets at Sisyphos in Berlin and Basement in NYC, he’s eager and ready to bring the rave energy back to home base and where it all started.
