Tromblau is a Chicago-based trombonist, composer, Vinyl DJ, and Jewish Educator born and raised in New York City. In May 2022, Tromblau created Tromblau &Friends, a collective playing her original compositions informed by Black American Music, Jewish Music and Liturgy (avodah). Her compositions combine freedom, prayer, and play igniting alternate realities that seek to protest the mundanity of oppression and suppression. Tromblau &Friends includes collaborators Dakarai Barclay, Carmani Edwards, Indigo, Max Lazarus, Jonah Lazarus, and Julius Tucker. Most recently, Tromblau &Friends was featured as part of NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Tour 2026 where they performed at Thalia Hall. In Spring 2026, Tromblau was selected by International Anthem as an Artist in Residence at Theaster Gate’s “The Land School” for Spring 2026 where they presented their new project, Beis Music\*, where Jewish Liturgical Music meets House Music. They'll be joined by percussionist Alex Santillli for both the live session and an all Vinyl DJ set!
